Double TD welcome bonus points for couples

If you read my Free Travel from TD Canada Trust post and you are travelling with your significant other, you may find this hint helpful.

1. Open a Select chequing account to waive the TD Gold Travel annual fee.
2. Deposit $5,000 ($2,500 each) of your emergency cash into the joint account to waive the Select service monthly fee.
3. Apply a TD Gold Travel card for each account holder (provided that both of you qualify).
4. Recieve 2X TD welcome bonus points for the travel.
